Liplase Q&A

What is LipLase™?

LipLase is a cosmetic laser treatment used to increase the size of your lips. It’s a great alternative to lip injectables, which sometimes have potential side effects and complications.

LipLase is noninvasive and involves no artificial substances or medications. Instead, the heat from the Fotona laser stimulates the production of natural collagen within your lips. Collagen is a fibrous protein within your tissues that provides structure and firmness.

The laser doesn’t affect the skin on or around your lips, so you won’t experience irritation. Furthermore, the treatment requires no downtime, so you can go straight back to work or errands after your appointment at Finesse Dental.

What are the results of LipLase?

LipLase can change the shape or structure of your lips in several ways. During your consultation, express your concerns and treatment goals to Dr. Moqattash. Using LipLase can:

  • Increase the size of your lips
  • Augment the fullness of your lips
  • Make your lips more proportionate
  • Improve the symmetry of your lips
  • Define the borders of your lips

Dr. Moqattash usually recommends a short series of LipLase treatments for the best possible results. If you enjoy the effect of LipLase and want fuller lips, book maintenance treatments incrementally at Finesse Dental.

What should I expect during the LipLase procedure?

A LipLase procedure takes about 20 minutes and requires no preparation. In fact, the treatment is so comfortable that you likely won’t need any numbing agent. Still, Dr. Moqattash may offer it if your lips are sensitive.

During the procedure, you might feel as if hot water is touching your lips. A lasting heat sensation can last for up to 30 minutes after the treatment. You won’t experience bruising or other side effects that affect your appearance.

After LipLase, you should try to keep your lips moist. Your lips might become dry and peel a bit, but this is normal and should subside within a few days. You can apply lipstick right away to conceal the dryness if you choose.
